A normal person's diet can be seen by examining the food pyramid as it shows the right amounts of food in order to lead a healthy lifestyle. Diet doesn't always matter when it comes to a healthy lifestyle, exercise counts as well. In order to sustain a healthy diet, people must have regular exercises to assist with the dieting.

Although athletes are human just like we all are, but they have almost above human average abilities. Because of these abilities, an atlete's diet will differ from a normal persons diet as their diet is not aimed towards healthiness, but towards competition reasons. An example of an athlete's diet is Michael Phelps' diet. He consumes at least 12,000 calories a day, but he isn't fat, he's fit. He eats a lot because he trains a lot per day in order to stay competitive. His diet will not suit a normal person as it is too much for someone to consume and burn off on the same day.
